We found a different better way
Recently, the Wall Street Journal posted an article by Rachel Wolfe, American Women Are Giving Up on Marriage.
The article is paywalled, but the sentiment is widely available. Just ask a single 30-something woman.
Thoughts?
I’m a single 30-something woman, but my thoughts already clog the arteries of this website.
Anticipating their responses, I asked a few fellow single friends what do you think about this article?
Then I asked some monsters coupled homies, too.
“well, great… just as I finally figured out how to fold a fitted sheet and load the dishwasher properly.
But really, it makes sense. Women have figured out they don’t need a guy around just to be happy—or to reach stuff on the top shelf. You’re all out there doing these amazing things, traveling, buying property. Meanwhile, I’m over here still trying to remember all my passwords.
Honestly, if I were a woman, I might give up on marriage too. The dating pool isn’t exactly full of emotional ninjas. It’s more like… ‘Hey, here’s Gary. He’s still mad about something his ex said in 2004.’
"TBH, this doesn’t surprise me — it validates what so many of us have been feeling for a while. It’s not that we’re giving up on marriage.. we’re just no longer willing to settle for partners that drain us or hold us back. So many of my friends aren’t happy in their relationships… having a partner isn’t the Best Case universally, to be fair.”
